Carl Froch delivers his verdict on Daniel Dubois vs Moses Itauma

Carl Froch is fascinated about what could potentially happen if Moses Itauma steps up to face Daniel Dubois in the near future. 

Itauma is seen as the future of boxing within the fight community, and he can take another step closer to proving that when he collides with Filip Hrgovic in August. 

Victory there for Itauma is surely set to land him a world title shot in 2027 and that could see him face current WBO ruler, Dubois, in an all-English heavyweight bout. 

Dubois proved himself massively earlier this year when he climbed off the canvas twice to stop Fabio Wardley, but it looks like he will have to face the Ipswich man in an immediate rematch with the fight possibly taking place at the end of this year. 

Froch has praised the strengths of weaknesses of Dubois, but he does believe he is a fighter who can provide boxing fans with the answers regarding the ceiling of Itauma. 

“[Dubois] is big, strong, nice solid jab, a tidy fighter. He can take a punch when he has to, but he does choose to go down every now and then, there is almost a question mark around his desire and his heart and whether or not he has got that grit,” said Froch on his YouTube channel. 

“So, it is difficult say whether he can reign, but he is a two-time world champ and now he is WBO world champ, so he has got Moses Itauma knocking on the door. Moses Itauma is mandatory for the WBO, so maybe we will find something out there. 

“We are going to find something out about Itauma because, if this fight gets made, it will be the first time that he has been in with someone who can actually punch really hard and is very tidy.”
