Dave Allen believes that Moses Itauma has what it takes to get past Tyson Fury if the heavyweight pair were to meet now.

Itauma returns to action on January 24th as he goes in with the highly respected Jermaine Franklin who is expected to give Itauma some much needed rounds.

The veteran American is well known to fight fans in Britain after taking Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua the distance, but can he do the same against Itauma?

The young heavyweight star is well placed to push on and become one of the biggest names in the sport and that could lead to future fights Joshua and Fury after already of disposing of Whyte in one round.

Fury is set to return to boxing in 2026, and he continues to be linked to a showdown with Joshua which would likely sell out a football stadium.

Success there could mean a fight with Itauma, and although Fury possesses far more experience as a former world champion, Allen, a current contender at heavyweight, insists Itauma could get the job done.

“Current? I’m going to have to go… Itauma’s not proven, but I believe the hype,” said Allen when playing Winner Stays On with Clubhouse Boxing.

“I’m going to go Itauma.”
