Derek Chisora has sent a warning to Moses Itauma as the young fighter gets ready for a potential showdown with Filip Hrgovic in August.
The Croatian fighter impressed recently when he made light work of Dave Allen with a one-sided performance intended to put the heavyweight division on notice.
The bout is still not agreed, but Hrgovic appears to be the frontrunner for the fight and is sure to provide Itauma with a much-needed test.
In the last two years, Itauma has proven to be one of the heavyweight division's most outstanding prospects with eye-catching wins over Demsey McKean and Dillian Whyte.
Earlier this year, Itauma became the first person to stop Jermaine Franklin when he halted the tough American in the fifth round. Hrgovic is set to be his second test of 2026 and Chisora likes what he sees when observing Itauma’s likely next test.
“You can tell by his eyes, he [Hrgovic] is so confident, him and Moses would be a good fight. Is he a good fighter? He is an amazing fighter, they call him ‘El Animal’, there is a reason that they call him that,” said Chisora when speaking to TalkSport.
“To answer your question, is that going to be a good fight for him [Hrgovic]? Southpaw, young fighter, yes.”
“I love Moses, I believe that when you have people pushing you so much, having you think that you can beat anybody in the world, you believe it yourself. I think that this is a big step up for him.”
