Tony Bellew has been impressed with Daniel Dubois’ recent run of form, but he still thinks he will fall short when he clashes with Oleksandr Usyk this weekend at Wembley Stadium.
The undisputed title battle, a rematch from their 2023 meeting, sees Dubois enter the bout in a menacing manner after turning his career around in the last two years.
After being beaten by Usyk in Poland, many within the sport were right to believe that Dubois’ days could be numbered but massive improvements have been made, and he enters this fight with Usyk as IBF champion.

In his last three fights, Dubois has registered three brilliant wins, and all have come before the final bell with Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua all falling to the London man.
Against Joshua, Dubois pulled off a huge upset as he dropped his rival four times before the contest was ended in round five.
Now facing a familiar foe, Dubois will be hoping his upturn in performances will continue as he goes in with his nemesis.
Bellew, who faced Usyk in 2018 in his final contest, can see Dubois having some success, but he thinks Usyk will eventually get the job done.
“Listen, I like what I’ve seen from Daniel in his last few fights. He’s proved many people wrong and that includes myself,” said Bellew when speaking exclusively to FightLens.
“What he done against Joshua shocked me and it’s now put him in a position to go and challenge for the undisputed title and although he should be confident, he has a big problem to solve in front of him.
“Usyk won’t even be thinking about the first fight because he will have recognised Daniel’s improvement, and he won’t go into a fight without treating the opponent as the biggest threat there is.
“I expect Daniel to perform better than what he did in the first fight and even provide Usyk with some nervy moments, but Usyk will be too smart, and he will be the winner in the end.”
