Former Anthony Joshua trainer predicts Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis

The boxing world received a huge shock earlier this month when it was announced Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis will face each other later this year. 

For weeks leading up the shocking reveal, it appeared that Anthony Joshua was the frontrunner to be facing Paul whilst Davis was lining up a rematch with Lamont Roach. 

Those plans obviously never came to fruition and now fight fans are set to see a compelling clash when one of boxing’s best fighters will surely put on a lot of weight to take on Paul. 

Davis is a lightweight and has campaigned one division higher briefly, but he will be taking on a much bigger fighter as Paul has recently been sounding out cruiserweight champions and Joshua. 

Robert Garcia, the former trainer of Joshua, was recently asked about the fight and he gave his thoughts on who would come out on top. 

Paul will have numerous physical advantages including weight and height, but with Davis’ experience ay the highest level, Garcia is expecting him to be fine once the bell goes in November. 

“I think Tank f***s him up. He’s a good fighter man,” said Garcia when weighing up the possibilities for Paul vs Davis. 

“He could be [one of] the best in the world. I’m not mad at the fight, [but] I’m not gonna watch it.”
