Adam Booth has long been a student on the heavyweight division after guiding David Haye to glory there.

Booth has since trained several fighters in boxing’s most glamourous weight category, and he will have a keen eye on the May 9th battle between Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois.

Wardley will be defending his heavyweight title against the former champion, and after the pair came together at a recent press conference, their imminent battle has got the boxing community split down the middle.

Both men go into the contest with a fearsome reputation as huge punchers, but with Wardley unbeaten and being able to prove he can overcome a crisis, some give him a big advantage.

Booth, who recently trained Josh Kelly to a world title at super-welterweight, is fascinated by the fight but gives the edge to the Ipswich man.

“It’s a great match up because they both have very obvious strengths and both got very obvious weakness. When I strip it down to it, I probably slightly favour Fabio, because he takes it a little bit better,” said Booth when speaking to TalkSport

“He’s been worked over in a number of his fights and never once lost heart, or certainly didn’t lose his power, and has been able to turn them on a sixpence later in the fight.

“Whereas Daniel has struggled at times when it hasn’t gone his way. That’s not to say he doesn’t have the power to flatten Fabio, because he does. It’s a really even match-up and a really good fight.”
