Joseph Parker will have to be a little more patient as he waits for another shot at the heavyweight titles currently held by Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois.

The former world champion is currently enjoying a solid run following wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang, and he was set to be rewarded earlier this year when he was scheduled to face Daniel Dubois in Saudi Arabia.

The contest was called off at the last minute when Dubois was forced to pull out due to illness, and any hopes of the bout being rearranged have been dealt a blow.

Dubois will now head into a rematch with Usyk on July 19th, two years after he was stopped by the unbeaten Ukrainian.

The pair will headline at Wembley Stadium and both men are heading into the event in excellent form after scoring marquee wins in 2024.

Usyk was able to defeat Tyson Fury twice whilst Dubois caused a huge shock when he retained his IBF crown against Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium.

Whoever comes out on top in their sequel won't have to wait long to find out their next rival as it has now been confirmed that Parker awaits the victor.

"With Joe Parker, the WBO just put a mandate out saying that the winner of this fight has to defend against the WBO mandatory challenger, which is Joe Parker, which is a great fight by the way," said Frank Warren when speaking to Sky Sports.

"People might be saying 'oh Joe must be peed off he's not fighting Daniel' - well, he'll be fighting for four belts now.

"Whoever wins it, which I hope is going to be our man (Dubois), they'll be challenging for four belts, so he's in a better place."
