Frank Warren is pushing hard to get Denzel Bentley a world title shot following his fighter’s recent upturn in form.

In 2022, Bentley travelled to America to face Janibek Alimkhanuly for the Kazakh’s WBO middleweight belt, but despite a spirited effort, Bentley was well beaten on the scorecards.

The following year, Bentley was beaten in a huge upset when he was outpointed by Nathan Heaney, but that result appears to have been a platform for the London to improve, and his recent results have proved that.

Dominating in Britain, Bentley has shown he is well above that level and his promoter is hoping to land him an opportunity that will provide that.

Bentley is ranked high with the WBO and after three straight wins since the Heaney setback, he is now ready for a second crack at world glory.

Warren, who has secured numerous big fights for Bentley, believes now is the time for his man to get back into the ring with Janibek, and hopefully settle the series to become world champion.

"Janibek's last fight was a voluntary so we expect he will now have his mandatory next," said Warren when speaking with The Ring.

"Denzel has been patiently waiting in the top spot so now we should find out what the time frame is and everything.

"He hasn't fought yet this year because he is right up there in the rankings and we do not want to let anything get in the way of a title shot.

"But he cannot wait there forever, he's got to fight for that title before the end of the year, absolutely."
