Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder will clash in a fascinating heavyweight fight at London’s O2 Arena on April 4.
In the past, the pair have linked to a showdown with each other on several occasions as they have long featured near the top of the division, but the fight is now happening, and it will be a landmark occasion for both men.
Each fighter is currently on 49 fights as a professional meaning that this contest will bring up a half century for both men who will have 100 fights combined once the action gets underway.
Wilder enters the contest aiming to resurrect his career following a downturn in some of his most recent fights.
At the end of 2023, Wilder was outpointed by Joseph Parker before being stopped by Zhilei Zhang the following year.
The American did return to the win column in 2025 when stopping Tyrell Herndon, but Chisora will represent a significant step up for that fight.
Since losing to Tyson Fury at the end of 2022, Chisora has put together a three-fight winning streak and he was close to landing a world title shot against Fabio Wardley.
Instead, the London man will now face Wilder and whoever emerges victorious in this battle of two of boxing’s most complex characters will be in an ideal position to demand a bigger fight later in 2026.
