Joshua and Fury pass final tests and are now set to meet in huge heavyweight showdown

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are now on a collision course to meet at the end of 2026 after both coming through their final examinations with a scare of two along the way. 

The pair have been teasing a fight for the best part of a decade, but despite never sharing a ring together despite both being world champions at the same time, it does look like British boxing fans will get the fight they have waited a long time to see. 

Before their meeting which is likely to take place in November, both men wanted a final warm-up heading into what is the most important fight of both men’s careers. 

Fury opted to face Mariusz Wach in Thailand and although he took a few rounds to get to grips with the former world title challenger, he was in control throughout before Wach remained on his stool at the end of round seven. 

24 hours later, it was Joshua’s turn to pick up a win, but he endured a disastrous first round and it looked like his showdown with Fury was in major jeopardy. 

A huge favourite going into the bout, Joshua was reminded just how dangerous boxing can be when he was dropped twice in the opening round and looked very close to being stopped. 

In the second session, a recovered Joshua was much better and after putting pressure on Prenga, he found a huge right hand that ended the fight. 

Both men will be relieved to get wins in their rehearsal fights, but there will be no room for erro when they finally clash at some point this year.
