Jermaine Franklin has a huge fight to contend with this month when he goes in with major prospect, Moses Itauma, in Manchester on March 28, but that hasn’t prevented the American fighter from looking ahead at other fights.
Franklin is widely respected in the heavyweight division, and he has only endured two losses, both coming in Britain when beaten on points by both Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua.
Renowned for his toughness, Franklin has never been stopped, and his resilience is a key reason why he has been brought in to take on Itauma with the young star badly needing rounds.
The week after Franklin faces Itauma, another huge heavyweight boxing clash will take place at heavyweight when Derek Chisora collides with Deontay Wilder in London.
Both veterans are promising victory as they look to land themselves one last world title shot, but who does Franklin believe will come out on top when the two popular stars go at it next month?
“I’m 50-50, both warriors, I think in that fight it really just depends who gets the biggest punches off in that fight to see which way it’s gonna turn,” said Franklin when speaking to Seconds Out.
“They both can hit, they both like to fight, in my opinion, it’s who lands the most consistent punches in that fight.”
