Carl Froch is backing Derek Chisora to get the win when he finally collides with Deontay then Wilder on April 4th in London.

The longtime rivals have been close to fighting on several occasions, but the battle will finally take place with men approaching the end of their memorable and illustrious careers.

In recent years, Wilder’s form has suffered after losing twice to Tyson Fury before suffering shock losses to both Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.

Once of the most feared fighters in the entire sport, Wilder enters the contest against Chisora knowing that another setback could signal the end of his career.

Chisora comes into the fight in good form following a lengthy career that has included multiple setbacks where many followers of the sport believed retirement was close for the London man.

Three successive wins over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce, and Otto Wallin have rejuvenated Chisora’s career, and now he goes into the Wilder contest as a big favourite.

Froch, now one of boxing’s most outspoken voices, has had his say on how the fight might play out.

“Worst-case scenario, Chisora wins it on points. I can also see how he stops Wilder. Just based on, I’ve seen Wilder against Zhang, and against Parker, he looks finished,” said Froch when speaking to New Betting Sites.

“Looks like he’s a spent force. But it’s an exciting fight, and it’s a good fight for Chisora, because Deontay Wilder’s Deontay Wilder.

“He’s got a great reputation. He’s got a massive punch, and they always tell you that’s the last thing to go, but he can’t shape up properly now. He’s awkward on his feet. He doesn’t generate power anymore for me.

“He’s not a big puncher anymore. Because he shouldn’t be fighting, he’s had a spiritual awakening and then getting in there and carrying on fighting, it’s not ideal. Deontay Wilder doesn’t look like he can take any pressure at all.”
