The boxing world is buzzing with anticipation at the thought of a clash between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford who meet in Las Vegas this weekend.

This is the kind of matchup that gets fans on their feet, a collision between two modern masters who have both enjoyed outstanding form throughout their respective careers.

Mike Tyson, like the rest of the boxing world, is excited to see what goes down as the two fighters make their final preparations for what is set to be the biggest fight of 2025.

Canelo heads into the contest on the back of a lackluster win over William Scull in May, but the Mexican superstar, and those around him, are promising a different performance when he comes up against the Nebraska man.

Crawford, a four-weight world champion, like Canelo, is having his first contest in over a year and he is making a huge leap as he is jumping up two weight classes following his last win against Israil Madrimov in August 2024.

Tyson knows as well as anyone what it takes to make a big impression, and he has given his verdict on this weekend’s bout.

“I want Crawford to win, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen,” said Tyson when discussing the contest on The Big Podcast. “I would like for it to happen.”

“This guy [Alvarez] is a hard puncher, he’s a smart fighter. I want to see it.”
