Agit Kabayel is the new WBC champion, and he is already targeting some of the biggest fights in the sport.
After Oleksandr Usyk vacated all his world titles, Kabayel was upgraded from WBC interim champion and now he holds one of the richest prizes in all of sport.
The heavyweight landscape is undergoing a massive change and with Kabayel now firmly at the top of the division, he could land himself a major opportunity at the end of this year or early next.
Two targets for Kabayel are Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, and with the rivals likely set to finally square off in November, the winner could take on Kabayel for the world title.
Kabayel has waited a long time to test himself against the best fighters at heavyweight, but he is ready to prove he is a worthy champion against two of boxing’s most popular names.
“Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, when you think you have a chance to be a three-time world champion, let’s do it. Kabayel will wait for you,” said the German star when speaking to Sky Sports News.
”We can make the fight but first of all I think all the fans, the British fans want to see the Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury fight and after that we can see who’s best for the fight with me.”
