Nigel Benn is promising the world that they will see a much better version of Conor Benn on November 15 when he collides with Chris Eubank Jr for a second time.
Earlier this year, Benn and Eubank Jr, sons of legendary fighters, finally stepped into the ring following a tense and bitter build-up that stretched over two years.
When the first bell sounded for their fight back in April, the fighters delivered an instant classic as they went at from the outset and maintained an incredible pace for the full 12 rounds.
At the end of the bout, most observers believed Eubank Jr had done enough and that proved to be the case as he was handed the verdict by all three judges.
This week, the rivals came face to face again as they traded vicious insults at a press conference to raise awareness for their second meeting at the backend of the year.
Benn Sr, a former world champion at the peak of his powers, was reflective on the first fight when speaking to the media and he is expecting his son to get the job done when they clash again in two months.
“To me, that was Conor at his worst,” said Benn when appearing at the top table to hype the event.
“He was winging punches in throwing them left-right, not even thinking about what he was doing. Everything that we practiced for, the 12 weeks of training, he didn’t do one thing.
“He had him hurt so many times, yet he kept showing all the punches he was going to throw. I thought to myself, ‘Mate, that wasn’t even the real Conor.’ But I’m glad he did 12 rounds with a middleweight. All you have to do is wait for November 15, and you’ll see the real Conor.”
