Tony Bellew has given his backing to Oleksandr Usyk after it was announced the Ukrainian would face Daniel Dubois for a second time at Wembley Stadium on July 19th.
In 2023, the pair met in a controversial contest when Usyk was floored by Dubois, but the shot was deemed to have landed below the belt and no count was issued.
Usyk rallied brilliantly to register a stoppage, but each fighter has now moved on from that bout, and both have enjoyed bigger successes.
Last year, Usyk became undisputed champion at heavyweight when he defeated Tyson Fury before defeating the Brit for a second time in an immediate rematch.
Dubois rebounded well from his Usyk setback and after claiming the IBF belt, he defended it in style when he stopped Anthony Joshua at the same venue, he will face Usyk this summer last September.
Bellew, who was beaten by Usyk in 2018, is the latest high-profile figure to give his opinion on the fight, and he thinks his former rival will make it 2-0 in the series.
"Usyk is the best heavyweight in the world. He's probably the best heavyweight of our era, there is no disputing it anymore. He's amazing at what he does,” said Bellew when speaking to Bet365.
"Dubois has been amazing. I've wrote him off on a number of occasions and he's come back to prove me wrong.
"You've got to give him a shot and he's in with a chance, but Usyk has already made him quit once so can he make him do it again?
"He (Dubois) is at a stage in his career now where he's overcome such adversity and he's the most confident he's ever been.
"I think he'll get stopped between rounds eight and 12."
