Will Billy Joe Saunders fight again? Carl Froch gives his verdict

Carl Froch has poured water on the idea that Billy Joe Saunders could be about to make a return to the ring after so many years out.
After appearing in the headlines last month when he was trying to gain access to Chris Eubank Jr’s locker room ahead of his bout with Conor Benn, some reports have linked Saunders to a comeback.
Several people within the sport have claimed to have spoken to Saunders about putting on gloves again, but nothing is confirmed as he decides his next move.
A world champion in two weight classes, Saunders beat some great names at his peak as he was able to register impressive victories over Eubank Jr and Andy Lee.
In 2021, Saunders travelled to America to face Canelo Alvarez in an attempt to become unified champion at super-middleweight.
Despite starting well, Saunders would slow down dramatically, and after Canelo caused damage to his eye, Saunders was pulled out of the fight by his team.
That fight was over four years ago, and it still remains that last time that Saunders fought professionally.
Talking to Fightlens, Froch, who was also world champion at super-middleweight, does not believe we’ll see Saunders fight again despite the recent rumours.
“Has he dropped weight? If he’s talking about fighting Chris Eubank Jr, f**k knows how he’s gonna make 160,” said Froch when speaking on Sporting Talk
“I don’t think Billy Joe has any intention of fighting. If he did, I don’t think he could make super-middleweight [again.] Have you seen the size of him?”
