Frank Warren has revealed that Daniel Dubois is expected to return to the ring in February, with the heavyweight champion preparing for another outing following his impressive victory over Fabio Wardley.

Dubois produced a devastating performance at London's O2 Arena on Saturday night, stopping Wardley in the second round to retain his WBO heavyweight world title.

The victory marked the second time Dubois has beaten his British rival this year, having previously stopped Wardley in the 11th round of their thrilling encounter in Manchester back in May.

However, the champion wasted little time settling their rivalry in the rematch, dropping Wardley early before unleashing a relentless attack that ultimately forced the referee to intervene.

And with Dubois once again establishing himself among the leading names in the heavyweight division, attention has quickly turned towards what comes next for the 29-year-old.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Warren indicated that Dubois could be back in action in February, potentially setting up another significant night for the in-form star.

Dubois has made no secret of his ambition to face the biggest names in boxing, with heavyweight champions and former world champions potentially featuring on his radar.

IBF champion Filip Hrgovic has already emerged as a possible opponent after confronting Dubois following Saturday's victory, although no fight has been officially confirmed.

With the heavyweight division continuing to produce intriguing match-ups, Dubois' next appearance could provide another opportunity to strengthen his position and move closer to further world-title unification fights.

For now, February appears to be the target as Warren looks to keep his fighter active.
